Pendidikan Karakter dalam Perspektif Islam: Studi Pengelolaan Program Tahfidz di SMP Asy-Syifa Tahfidz School Bekasi

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of the tahfidz learning program in shaping the Qur’anic character of students at SMP Asy-Syifa Tahfizh School Bekasi. The background of this research arises from the urgent need for character education based on Islamic values amid the moral crisis and ethical degradation among today’s younger generation. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving the school principal, tahfizh teachers, and students’ parents. The findings reveal that the management of the tahfizh learning program at SMP Asy-Syifa Tahfizh School Bekasi is carried out through four main stages. The first is planning, which is formulated in the Lesson Plan (RPP), although it has not yet been equipped with a complete syllabus. The second stage is organizing, which includes the provision of facilities, the distribution of teacher responsibilities, and the establishment of organizational structures and halaqah groups. The third is implementation, which applies talaqqi, takrir, and tahfizh methods supported by daily religious habituation activities. The fourth is supervision and evaluation, conducted by the principal and tahfizh teachers to ensure the achievement of memorization targets and the improvement of students’ character. The implementation of this program has resulted in several positive changes among students, including greater discipline in worship, a stronger sense of responsibility, increased social awareness, and a consistent habit of reading the Qur’an. Therefore, the management of tahfizh learning plays a significant and transformative role in fostering students’ Qur’anic character, serving as a concrete manifestation of character education grounded in Islamic values.
